Humanities Instructor of English and Literature

Charles J. Krumbein is currently an Instructor of English composition, literature, film and humanities at Clinton Community College. In his over-thirty year career in education, he has taught a wide variety of courses within the English discipline on four different continents: Africa, Asia, Europe and North America. He has earned a B.A. degree from the University of Wisconsin--Oshkosh, an M.A. degree from San Francisco State University, and he has done his Ph.D. work up to an ABD at the University of Wisconsin--Madison.

Charles currently lives in Madison in a home built in 2000 designed by his son Chris, who constructed and maintains this website and took most of the photographs included in it. Charles enjoys reading, writing poetry, going to the theatre (especially in London) and traveling while teaching. The March 2008 excursion to Sicily was his 72nd trip to Europe! His favorite travel destinations are London, the French Riviera, Italy and Greece. Future opportunities for travel being planned are London and Ireland in 2009. Aside from education and travel, he lists among his greatest accomplishments the raising of his family, including his two fine sons, Donato and Chris.
